One small panel and battery doesn’t cut it in my case...I did load calcs.

Anyway I’m installing a solar system that’s independent of other energy sources and live comfortably.

Interesting. I considered it but don’t have the knowledge. Is it possible to build a 12V 150 ah battery with Bluetooth BMS?

The Lion batteries charge in 3-4 hours on solar or generator because the can charge to 100% at full boost rate or 14.1v. Lead acid can takes days because they are slow after 80%. They also have a lifetime warranty. They are 23lbs instead of 66 lbs each. The BMS prevents over or under charging. Only downside is up front cost.

It really isn't that hard. You can build it to whatever size you want. And yes the BMS that I am using can be controlled and set via bluetooth.

I’m very interested, researching the process for a 24V application (8x3.2V/150AH). I’ll PM you as well for more info. Thnx!

Thanks for the great report! I have 400 watts of solar and 2 x 6 volt golf cart batteries...in sunny Colorado. I use a lot of power...basically don't think about it, but on a sunny day, the solar can top off the batteries by about 1 PM or so.

I boondock exclusively, and my setup makes the black tank the only limit on my stays...and I got a tote to deal with that.

But these Lithiums sound like they'll be my next investment. I expect I'll get about 5 years out of my flooded cells, then I'll be in the market. Maybe by then the price will be significantly lower.

Thanks again!!

Great input from everyone. I just ordered the 2fer deal from Costco. I am concerned about charging the batteries. Both from the internal charger and from the chassis alternator. I know I am over my head and looking for some advice on what to add. Thanks in advance.
