Lippert Solid Step on an Eagle HT

We have a 26.5RLDS. I have been looking at the Solid Step from Lippert. The door frame seems to be right in the middle of the 3 step and 4 step models. Which version one are you using?

I stupidly assume the 3 step is a safer option, as I could always put a block underneath the support legs. The four step might be angled if we are in an uneven site.

Our trailer is fairly low to the ground, about 22 inches, so we went with the 2 step model. I installed in myself, was fairly easy. The hardest part was trimming the ridge off of the threshold.

The step is rock solid, no bouncing like the one that came with the trailer. The larger first step makes exiting much easier. My wife is really happy with the step.

I just installed a 3 step MORryde last night on my 29RE. Very easy to install and an awesome upgrade. Looking forward to our trip next week.

Slight issue with the steps being level to the ground. If I lift any higher, the door will not close. Wondering if I should have gotten the 4 step.

Threshold height is 36”

I should have returned and posted the LCI/Lippert response. They said I would be better off with the 4 step model, given my measurements. I ordered that and the lift assist. Both were delivered incorrect, but I did get to prove the 3 step is too short

BTW, the stairs are on sale from CW, and the lift assist is free when you buy the stairs right now. It was just about half the price of just the stairs on Amazon. Cannot beat that!

Man I want to add this to my 324BHTS but where I park, I have my other 18' trailer next to it and don't have room to fold it out.

Anyone ever heard of a quick disconnect for the steps? Any ideas?

I wish I’d thought of that. The only way into my trailer when in storage is to pull it out 10-15’. May be a good theft deterrent.

Lippert does not have anything like that, but Morryde does. I don't have that problem, but I did look at it. I am still not sure what you do with them while traveling, but they should be just as stable as the regular version.
