LP Tank & Battery Separation?

I was looking at a specific A-frame storage box and noticed that a few of the reviewers indicated enough room for tanks and batteries! This doesn't seem right... fuel and ignition source should not be stored in the same storage compartment. Am I right or is this acceptable?

Since a storage battery is BOTH an ignition source (electricity) and a source of fuel (hydrogen sulfide gas) why are you worried about adding another fuel (propane) to the mix?

All of those objects should be out on the tongue in ventilated weather-protected cases.

Mike... clearly any storage option for either battery or LP tanks should be vented. My question is, can they be stored side-by-side in the same box? Not sure if 5th wheel storage bays are setup like this or not. I don't have much room on the tongue, but looking to add a bit more storage for leveling pads, chocks and such. A larger A-Frame poly trailer tongue box with vents could fit everything, but I would only consider this if it was safe.

I've seen plenty of storage options that make me cringe:
Propane bottles inside compartments
Battery trays with wires rubbing on the drawer glides
If you know the potential for problems with these dangerous products, then take the steps necessary to avoid issues. Venting, separation, inspections, proper maintenance, etc.

If a sales rep tells you "It's OK, they're all built like that." Walk away. Find something you know is safe enough for you to be comfortable with.

Most fifth wheels have batteries in a compartment on the door side, then propane in a separate compartment with no bottom on the opposite side.
