Mice

Has anyone ever tried a product called Mouse Free. It's a spray on undercoating mouse repellant.

Do you have any info on it? Do you spray it on yourself etc? I had a problem a couple of years ago but managed to rid a (believed) single mouse and then I foam sprayed as many cracks and holes that I could find and seemed to eliminate the problem. I now put down packages of mouse poison that the rodents will open and so far no problems. I will find out if it worked this year when I pick up my unit on the 20th of Dec. to get ready for my trip.

Seann has nothing else to do so he has time to find all that neat stuff.

Has anyone here actually bought and used this? If so, your thoughts on it? It looks interesting, but it isn't cheap. Just curious if any of you here have used it.

I did and sprayed it on myself. but I put the post up to see if anyone else had tried it and what they thought of it. It goes on quite easilly and it smells minty. We have a dealer that will do it for 10 bucks a foot. so I opted to do it myself. I did 3 units all 30+ feet in about an hour and a half with one beer break for 500 bucks.

How long is it supposed to last ? For that kind of money, hopefully for a very long time?

I think it will depend on how mutch rain and wet you tow in that will wash it off. It is fairly thick and doesnt drip when applied. Just from my experiance withit so far I think just some touch ups every year will do. I think that 165 bucks per trailer is cheap insurance if it works. My one bubby got them last year and they chewed his carpet in a brandnew trailer. cost alot more than that to fix it. plus the mess in every nook and cranny that they make that has to be cleaned

Okay thanks, and I misread your last post where you said that did three units. I was thinking 500 for one!

Our Jayco dealer recommended placing fabric softner sheets around the insided of the TT. He said rodents do not like the smell.

And I've read numerous posts that dryer sheets do not work. Some even said the little critters used them for bedding. I know they do not work on ants, despite claims otherwise.

I have heard the same (rodents don't like the smell) my issue is that my unit is in "locked down" storage and can't easily replace the dryer sheets - the smell goes away after about 3 weeks. I have been told that for the dryer sheets to work they need to be replaced ever so often - just thinkin'

Sorry old wives tale.... last winter my buddy put fresh bounce sheets all over his RV before taking it out to storage... they used the stuff as toilet paper... his rig was covered front to back in mouse do do.

No Doubt about wives tale - but then I am not sure there is a "fool-proof" method ..... other than a hungry cat.

Guess it's like the commercial - "your results may vary"

Best mouser I ever saw was a little (she weighed all of 50 lb) German Shepard I used to have. The mobile home court I lived in back then before buying a house was lousy with mice. Everyone had mice despite the place also being lousy with feral cats. Everyone except us, that is. Nothing entered that yard and lived to tell about it. We would find mouse heads in the yard almost daily. Once we found a pile of regurgitated gopher in the yard (I guess it disagreed with her). We even found 1/2 of a snake leading up to the chain link fence around our space (she apparently ate the half that was in our yard; weird). We never had any vermin in the trailer (she had run of the yard and underneath the trailer). And yes, we did feed her.

We were overrun with mice at our current site. None got into the trailer but before they did I went through 9 boxes of De Con. They ate one box a day and on the 9th day the box was only half eaten. There are no more mice and apparently it didn't hurt the rabbits cause they are still here. I now have a box and a half of De Con left over.

anytime I have to leave my trailer for any length of time I have ultrasonic pest chasers...but then I have a huge solar array that keeps my batteries topped off. Yeah the ultrasonics work well... never had a mouse or anything else in the TT... cant say the same for the truck.....
