Multiple Battery wiring

I have decide to upgrade from a single 12v battery to 4 6v batteries. They will all be in the same box. My question is the gauge of wire to use to connect these. Since they are so close it would not be real expensive to go big.
Recommendations?

The lower AWG gauge wire the better for less voltage drop.

I connected my 2 12 volt batteries together using cables from good old Amazon. They spec at 6 gauge with a max current of 200 amps. I liked then because they were not real stiff.

I made all mine so there wasn’t a bunch of extra wire looped around everywhere. I built my battery box, installed the batteries in it, and then measured all the wire lengths I’d need. I bought the linear footage of heavy welding cable (because it’s super flexible) and the appropriate ends I’d need to connect them. There are ends you can just clamp on the cables, and there are ends you smash and then solder to the cables. If you make your own cables it will be much tidier than buying longer pieces of pre-made cable and just making it work.
