New battery connected but no power

I have a 29n 2006 jay feather LGT. I just purchase a month ago and this is our first trailer.
We took it into shop for a heck up and battery was dead, so I purchased a new one and wired up the same.
When the trailer is connected to hydro it shows a full charge, but when I unplug the trailer from hydro I have no power at all. Is there an on/off switch or fuse that could be gone?
Any help greatly appreciated.

I would start by looking at the inline fuse near the battery. Do you no if you have a battery disconnect switch it should also be near the battery.

I had a similar problem this spring. I found out that one of the fuses at the battery had a poor connection inside the fuse holder even though the battery was fully charged and working. Apparently when the fuse was inserted, instead of the tab going inside the connector, it slid down the outside of the metal, between the connector and the rubber housing.

Hi, thank you for you reply, I went and checked fuse, looked fine, but I replaced with a new one. Still no luck. Do I need to hook it to tow vehicle to charge? It is a new battery, and is charged... any ideas?

At some part during this process the battery may have been reconnected improperly....have you checked the reverse polarity fuse in the converter?

Remember on RV's BLACK is positive and white negative

The best way I always tell someone connecting batteries is to find the word "NEG" or the symbol "-" on the battery case and make sure this is the battery terminal going to frame ground real close to the battery.

If it was hooked up wrong then the in-line FUSE near the battery usually blows as well as two large FUSE values located in the 12V Power Distribution Center that may be marked 'REVERSE POLARITY' will be blown.

Some of the newer trailers are using a AUTO-RESET breaker near the battery in lieu of the IN-LINE fuse.

Both your battery and the converter/charger feeds your 12V Distribution Panel so you can use this a quick way to check the battery is connected all the way to the Distribution Panel.

The other way to check is to use a DC VOLTMETER across the battery terminals and it should read 12.6-12.7VDC if full charged with the Shore Power turned off. Then turn on SHORE POWER and the DC Voltage across the battery terminals should jump up to 13.6VDC if everything is hooked up properly.

In the AUTOMOTIVE WORLD the battery cable colors are RED is POSITIVE(+) and BLACK is NEGATIVE (-) FRAME GROUND.

In the RV WORLD the battery cable colors are BLACK is POSITIVE (+) and the WHITE is NEGATIVE(-) frame ground.

Somethings these different color schemes get mixed up when it comes to batteries. Best way to be absolutely sure is read what is printed on the battery case.

Once you get all of this correct then take a photo of your battery terminal wiring using your cell phone camera and keep a copy of this photo in a zip-lock bag hanging near the battery for future use....
