New generator question

I have a 15k ac with no hard start. May install a softstart after warranty period as I just don't want to give Jayco any reason to not warranty something if something happens. I am looking at Champion duel fuel 3100/2800W. Will this do the trick? Or will I need the Champion duel fuel 3400/3100. Its about 100 or 150 dollar difference. I rather stay smaller / lighter if possible plus money is money. Anyone with experience with these exact generators?

Another question, has anyone hooked this type of generator to the propane quick disconnect to use the onboard propane? Would be nice as one less thing to carry.

Also thanks in advance. I have done my research and want one of these two I plan to get from Supergen? as remanufactured. I know the whole honda and what not. But I don't want to spend that kind of money.

The 3100/2800 will run the 15K A/C, but you are better off with the 3400/3100 watt.
Good thing about portable you can use it for an emergency at home too.
If it is to heavy to load make a small ramp for your truck, it doesn't take much to lift (100 lbs.) or slide on.

Is yours the duel fuel? If so have you tried to run it off the onboard propane system?

I can't comment on the connection to the quick-connect (although I do think there would be issues regarding double regulation since the trailer is already low pressure) but as far as the noise level and the weight is concerned, there isn't really much difference between the two if any. I opted for the remote start 3400W since I also have the 15K AC. It works great.

They do not recommend to run of the onboard propane system as there is not enough fuel flow.

O ok. Would be convenient since my 5th carries duel 30lb tanks. Guess I'll research if there is a way. Maybe putting a T before the onboard regulator or just tie into one of the tanks instead of trying to use the Quick Disconnect at the rear. I just always hate carrying a bottle in the back of the truck as I have an auto slide hitch moving and never want it to come in contact with each other. But at the same time, love the longer run time you get from propane compared to gas. Thanks for the advice!

I run the duel fuel champion off the trailers regulated quick connect just fine. In fact direct connect to the quick connect WITHOUT the supplied regulator from champion is TOO MUCH flow.
