New Jay Flight SLX8 Command Center Issue

Brand new trailer and just picked it up today and drove it 2.5 hours to where it’s going to sit.. the hot water tank worked for half the day then it wouldn’t come on.. I think I’ve tracked it down to the command center by the door... all levels and lights work on the command center as well as the lights in the three switches - Water Pump, Water Heater LP Gas and Water Heater Electric... but when you flip the switch the water pump doesn’t come on nor does the water heater kick on.. I have checked the fuse and it’s good... any thoughts? Thanks

Quick question, when you are saying that the water pump doesn't kick on, does it not work when you open a faucet?

Mine has the clear tube under the kitchen sink so when you winterize you flip the switch and drop the hose in a gallon jug of antifreeze and it draws it in. Since I’m new to this I do have the trailer hooked to city water and all is good on that need.. does the water pump bit work when it’s hooked to city water? Guess I don’t really know how the water pump works very well.

Did you open the valve on the clear tube to pull the antifreeze in?

Also, are you trying to winterize?

No because I’m not leaving yet... when I was having issues with the water heater I just flipped the switch to see if it was doing anything... the pump didn’t kick on so wasn’t sure if it will even kick on when using city water and pressurized.. UPDATE.. the hot water heater has now kicked on.. I followed the instructions inside the panel on the water heater and unplugged a wire and I guess it reset.. maybe I’m just not understanding when the water pump will work in this process...

OK, do you have water in your fresh water tank? If so, disconnect from your city water source, turn the pump switch to on, and then turn on a faucet and see if it will run.

Basically, when the pump is on and a faucet is opened, it detects a drop in pressure and it will run until the faucet is closed and the pressure in the system builds back up. If you are running on city water, the pump may or may not engage since it may not see enough drop in pressure to kick on. To confirm, disconnect from the city water and try it. I don't recommend running the pump without any water in the fresh water tank for extended periods though.

Perfect.. that answers my question. I have a water hose going from the city water to the trailer at the city water intake and it’s fully pressurized. So that’s probably why the water pump won’t come on. When I leave tomorrow I’ll turn off the city water and unhook, drain everything and then drop the hose in the bottle of antifreeze and open a faucet and flip the switch and what how you explain it that should be the answer.. I truly appreciate your help. Still not sure why the water tank went haywire for a few hours but I did everything to reset it and I think it did.. thanks again

There is a valve at the top of that clear hose that will need to be opened before it will suction. Just run each faucet until you see the antifreeze run out and you will be fine.

On the hot water tank, was the water already heated when you tried it? If it wasn't below the set thermostat temp, it isn't going to kick on.

How water tank water was cold.. wasn’t heated at all. When we got here I got everything up and running. Water heated, used sink, and took a shower. After the first shower it kicked off. I tried multiple things and it finally randomly kicked back on. Now it seems to be working again.

Interesting. Hopefully it was just a reset as you said.
