New tires for TT

Received my new tires today, Maxxis M8008. They had a date code on them of 2011. Is this a problem or should they be OK to run?

That means they were produced the 20th week of 2011. I think Maxxis recommends replacement after 7 years. I'm not sure I would except a new trailer tire with a date code that old.

5 years seems like a long time for tires to be "on the shelf". I think I'd angle for some newer ones.

The ones I just got were a year old and I was not happy.. I would send those back ..

Where did you buy them? I just bought a set from Discount Tire Direct and they had a date code of 2816 - I would not accept the ones you received...

As everyone else has said, those are too old to accept as new. When I bought my S637's I specifically told the tire vendor I wouldn't take anything older than 9 months.

Trailer tires normally expire before they wear out and yours are nearly expired already.
