Hmm... OP had 1 post ~24hrs ago and nothing since. He's had a good dose of helpful info and I'm betting all's well.

I suspect a tripped breaker here as well and appreciate what GFCI's are designed and intended for but I also know what they are capable of doing.

In this case the best way I can help the OP is by offering all reasonable possibilities of what may have gone wrong so in my opinion the GFCI's should be checked and/or cycled/reset.

My point had nothing to do with a "tripped" GFI because of an overcurrent condition which is what caused the OP to loose power. Another thread that has gone off into the weeds. Yes there may be a tripped GFCI but not because of the overcurrent issue. I'm trying to educate people as to what which devices do what.

Don't you just love it when all these helpful suggestions are made and the original poster never gets back. We assume his problem was identified but we would all like to know what worked or didn't work. It is the reason we post.

I have to admonish myself for the above quote. It has only been one day. I think we should give the guy time to respond. He has been inundated with helpful hints.

He is probably running around with all the suggestions offered, buying a voltmeter, checking wiring, buying a spare GFCI and trying to figure who Al Gore is! LOL

A better explanation would be: A gfi monitors the current in the hot and neutral legs. It trips when there is an imbalance. GFI's do not like inductive loads like those associated with dehumidifiers, chest freezers, compressors, etc.

LOL! This thread has been fun!

I never tripped an inside breaker before my last trip out. My trailer was 50A, but my MH is 30A, so it takes a little more care to operate successfully, even with the power management system. The only time I tripped a breaker with my trailer was a freak accident along with an old breaker; I tripped the post breaker somehow. Easy find, easy fix, only happened that once in more than 4 years.

DW tripped one of our inside breakers using her hair dryer while the space heater was running full blast. I looked at the panel and couldn't SEE a breaker tripped. I cycled the one I thought was the right one, and no glory. I went to cycle them all beginning with the one at the top (a GFI breaker) and discovered quickly that was my culprit. While I couldn't SEE that it was tripped, I could feel it when I went to cycle it. Snapped it smartly to the center (off) and smartly back, and the world was right again.

Lessons learned: 1) Don't run so much high draw stuff at once, and 2) fully cycle the suspect breaker because you can't tell by sight that it's thrown, and just pushing it back toward "on" doesn't work.

I had cautioned my DW against using the hair dryer in the trailer (30amp) when other high load devices were running. She understood, or so I thought.
Our electric heater was cycling on and off. She walked by me when I was busy and took the hair dryer outside and used one of the outside trailer outlets! All was good until the heater cycled on!

I posted a while back about a situation this past summer. I woke up hot, so I cranked up the AC. Wife woke up cold, not knowing AC was running (we run the overhead fan on constant fan at night), plugged in the space heater and cranked that. The two fought each other for a couple hours until we both woke up to complete silence and a tripped post breaker. I figured out what happened outside the trailer at 4am with a flashlight in my mouth wearing only my underwear.

The OP hasn’t posted another comment on his issue. Hope he got it sorted out. The original post has taken on a life of its own tho.

LOL!! That's totally something my wife would do!!

I try to teach her...

I was thinking about running a dedicated outlet into my dinette area that would be a direct connect to the 20A on the outside post just for these kinds of things. But now I'm thinking it would just be easier to run an extension cord out the bathroom window just for her hair dryer!

Since this thread has a life of its own, tripped my first breaker last trip with a......you guessed it, hair dryer used by girlfriend. She had used it before, but not with the space heater going. Fixed it like a pro (to her) by flipping breaker back on.
