Norcold 323X 3 way refrigerator

We recently purchased a like new '09 Jayco 1207 PUP with the above frige. I've had it set up trying to familarize myself with the operation of the unit. I had the frige on AC for 36 hours and it didn't seem to be cooling. The temps were cool outside and the inside of the frige was already cool, would that keep the thing from starting? I did not hear the compressor kick on. I didn't try it on gas so I can't say if that works or not. The kids we bought it from said it worked fine when they used it. The fuses are good so that part is OK. It's probably operator error or maybe I'm expecting to much out of the thing. Just like to know for sure before we're away from home. Thanks

There is no compressor or any moving parts for that matter. These are absorption refrigerators. Does the "chimney" get hot? Is the trailer level?

The only affirmative I can offer is the trailer was level. I don't know where the chimney is or the difference between type of refrigeration. Ask me about bulldozers or motorcycles I might be able to carry on a conversation but camper refrigerators, no. Thanks

Remove the vent cover on the outside behind the refrigerator. You will find a vertical tube that resembles a chimney. That should be getting hot.

Thanks, I'll check that as soon as we get a chance to pop it back up.

I am not sure about this model but on my previous PU it had several settings on the back side as you open the vent.
12V rocker switch
120V rocker switch
You only wanted to use one or the other.
Both are off if your using gas.
Gas required lighting Pilot light etc.

I've read the instructions several times, the selector switch is on AC, the fuses are good, and the shore power cord is plugged in. Does the chimney heat up when on AC?
