We bought our 2016 White Hawk 24RKS in April, sold our 2013 Jayco Flight Swift 198RD, and moved the White Hawk next to our house on Lake Erie in Wheatley, Ontario. There we had made a special parking area with a full hook-up post for a RV. (Water tap, 30amp RV electrical box and a 3” sewer inlet next to it) The White Hawk is there awaiting to be hooked up to our RAM 1500 for the snowbird run south to warmer winter temps coming December, but in the meantime the White Hawk was used as a small guest apartment. It happened that in July and August we had relatives staying over. For their comfort Marlene (wife) stocked up the White Hawk’s new Norcold N811 fridge/freezer with fine beverages and some ice cream. The outside temps were above 40C/100F. The from the house fridge to the travel trailer’s Norcold transported ice cream was hard in the beginning, but got soft in the Norcold. I had started up the Norcold fridge/freezer 24 hrs. before the transfer and had it on the medium setting of #3. The fridge was on “auto” and was using at the time the shore power provided. Lets face it, these were extreme hot days and in normal temps of 30C/80F the Norcold would have performed a lot better. I knew that I could improve the performance of the Norcold by fitting some muffin fans behind the fridge underneath the roof vent to increase the air movement from the lower vent to the upper vent.
