Norcold N811 not working on shore power/tripping gfi

Got a Norcold N811RT fridge a 2017-2018 model. When on shore power and auto, it trips gfi and then tries/lights on propane. Tested gfi circuit and plugged a hair dryer directly into fridge recepticle and it doesn't trip it. Reseated all connections on board and tested heating element and got a reading of 48 ohms resistance, which I believe is in spec. When I unplug heating element from board, gfi doesn't trip (naturally it just defaults to propane). When plugged into non gfi circuit at house, doesn't trip breaker, but still reverts to propane. Would you still order a heating element and replace it? or should I be looking at something else?

Since it’s a GFCI that’s tripping it sounds like something is shorting to ground. I think the 48 ohms is a good number. Maybe check for continuity from the heater leads to ground. Have you visually checked the control board? There might be something visual there.
My Norcold has a “diagnostic mode” that I can trigger by holding Mode and temp setting buttons down 2-3 seconds but mine is an older model.
