On demand hot water

Is anybody else having issues with the water not getting hot enough and that you cannot run the hot side on full pressure as it won't get over 98 degrees. When I cut the hot water supply in half, it will get to 125 degrees. Not enough pressure even with the added cold water.

I recently replaced my on-demand water heater with a tank model because I absolutely hated it. It is the worst thing to have in an RV that is used for boondocking.

Taking showers was a joke as was the "hot" water available in my bathroom sink. To get hot water to wash dishes was a pain. I would first have to run it on full blast and then throttle back to get the temp up. I had my heater set at the max of 124 degrees but that never made it to any outlet.

My tank water heater is oh so much better. I can burn my hands doing dishes. Hot water now can get to the bathroom sink. Showers are noticeably better. Best of all you don't waste as much water, which is a concern when dry camping.

Jayco stopped offering the on demand water heaters as an option.........that should tell you something about the on demand systems for RV use.

The basic water heater was $349 on Amazon. You will also need a cover grill for it plus some other things. I got everything from Amazon. Probably all in was slightly above $500.

I opted for the water heater that included 120 volt operation as well as propane. I figured if I was going to swap it out I might as well upgrade it a bit.

Here is a link to a posting I did on this swap out.
