Our Schwintek Slide let us down

Well it was bound to happen sooner or later, when we were packing up in Savannah GA getting ready to head to Tallahassee FL, it took about a hour to get our large Schwintek Slide closed.
The front part of the slide would come in about a foot then just stop while the rear would continue coming in till it jammed.
After a lot of starting and stopping, pushing and pulling I finally got the slide closed.
I have contacted Jayco in hopes of talking to someone Tech Support.
Since we fulltime in our Pinnacle, taking it to the closest dealer (Approx 100 Miles) for them to tell us we will order parts, come back in a few weeks is not a very good plan.
Not sure how hard it will be to close again, I am waiting a few days setup here before trying to see if it will close again.

Any ideas or suggestions???

Search schwintek slide. There was a good post that someone did that had some good information about troubleshooting this type of slide. Hope this helps and good luck.

Rob and all,

We just returned from a trip up in the Sierra's and had a problem with our big Entertainment/Galley slide going out.

Ours bound up,rear, after going out only a few inches and the front continued until shutting off. Tried a couple different times with same result. Luckily there was a mobile tech nearby and what he saw looked like a cable sticking out next to the rubber slide wipers. We pushed from the inside and it freed and went out all the way, motor was struggling, but we did get it out.

With that our outside sat/cable connection did not work and had to connect Dish coax direct to the receiver.

Packed up this morning and slide came in OK and tomorrow have an appointment to look into this, and a few other minor issues, that we want Warranty to take care of.

Need to have them check with Jayco to see if we have the latest motors available since there have been upgrades.

Keep us informed of your progress Rob and good luck.

I hope so, we have ran it in and out every 5 or 6 days at our current location, no issues, we head to NC in a couple of weeks, keeping fingers crossed

Bounced it down the Interstate from Savannah GA to Tallahassee FL, guess that reset everything, seems to work fine now.

Kind of like our GMC 3500HD and the Exhaust Filter Cleaning message, it came on again for about 20 miles the other day then went off, dealer says filter is getting clogged up, just keep driving it !!!!

Sounds like the motors were not in sync...glad you only needed to bounce them back in.
