Outdoor lighting on 2017 Hummingbird 17RB
Hi everyone. My wife and I recently bought a '17 Hummingbird 17RB. From pictures we've seen online it looks like it came with an LED strip just under the awning for outdoor lighting. Ours does not have an LED strip or any other exterior lighting (except the running lights, brake lights, etc of course). I see a bundle of 4 wires sticking out just under the right side of the awning where I'd guess maybe the LED strip was plugged in. We have 2 light switches on the wall on the right just inside the door. The inner switch controls lighting inside and the outer switch currently appears to do nothing but I figured it was likely to turn on/off the outside lighting which seems to have been removed. Please see attached pictures to see the switches and the wiring I mentioned. My questions are: Should I see 12v between any of those wire pairs in the pic when I turn on the switch (see attached pic) on the right? I do not see 12v between any pairs of the 4 wires. Am I even right that the switch on the right should control outside lighting? Are the 4 wires I'm looking at supposed to supply 12v to the outside lighting? I looked at the fuses and all of them appear to be fine. Thank you in advance for advice/pointers/tips. Oh yeah, that remote that is velcro'd to the wall... I put a fresh battery in it and did try pressing "ON" on it and the white button under the "ON" button for white lights, and I pressed the upper left button a few times since it looks like it might be a brightness control. I did that after turning the wall switch on, hoping to see 12v between any pair of wires outside that I see, but still nothing.

Welcome to the Forum from Western New York State!
I can't help with the remote, but perhaps the original light strip failed and was removed, or the awning fabric was replaced. Our TT is much older, and had an outside lamp on the upper wall. We have the same double switch arrangement inside, and our left one is for inside lights, the right one is for the porch and step lights. Just the opposite of yours. It depends on how the worker popped the switches in the wall when it was built, or a previous owner switched them around if they were working on them. I've always thought ours were backwards, just me.
Perhaps more knowledgeable folks will chime in with better help on the wiring and remote particulars.

I used to think outside the box. Then inside the box. Now I don't even know where I put the box.

The 4 colored wires appear to connect to the light strip, or maybe a controller. I found a video for aftermarket multi-color LEDs you can attach to the camper side underneath the awning. It may explain what you're looking at.

Welcome from Northern California! We have a 2018 HB so I will try to explain our set up. Switch—— the inside rocker controls the ceiling light, the outside rocker is for the strip light. My harness is just a single plug not four separate wires. We had a lot of trouble with our light , so maybe someone modified yours. I would think with the rocker switch on you should get 12v. Your remote control looks just like ours. I know this isn’t much help , but there are other folks here that might be able to help you more. Good luck.

We have the same make and year model, I just replace the awning light controller that I don't see on your's.Looking at your picture of the wires, It seems a few could be for the awing motor, Each side has a motor. You should have 12 v. I would take the cover off at the light switch to see if you have 12v there first. If not there is a 2a In-line-fuse near the switch that can be bad. Then I would test the outside wires with a meter having someone slowly retract the awning to see if you have 12v. Carefree sells the complete kit w/ led strip. # R001764-xxx or the controller with remote " same one in your pic " # SR0109
