Part identification

I started working on the rats n'est under the bed (electrical) was was wonder what these were exactly. They are made by Passe and Seymore and seem to be some kind of junction box for RVs?

I'm going to guess on this one that it's a junction box and they place the romex in the top and two in the bottom and when the box closes it pierce's the wires and makes a connection like the snap together outlets they use. Quick and cheap for them
