Portable Generator Auto Generator

My 5th wheel is set up for an Onan generator but the cost to purchase/install is really steep. We want the generator to start automatically as well if we lose shore power.
Is there any way to do this with a portable inverter generator?

A portable wont start by itself, the system needs a transfer switch to sense when the power goes out and the portable doesnt have one. Auto start systems are expensive due to all the parts besides the generator.

A typical RV generator doesn't start on a power failure. Most RV auto starts only come on when the battery needs a charge or the a/c needs to run then the geny shuts back down.
