Power cord easy reel
Something new from MORryde.
Might have to consider this...don't like the struggle with storing our 50 amp cord...will be even harder when it gets cold again.

I saw a add for one in a RV mag I was reading about 2weeks ago. Seems like a great idea. I only use the 30 am cord so there is not a reel need. (sorry). You can also get several models with motors on them from marine dealers but they are expensive. I do like the Morryde product. Did you find out how much they are?

Saw one of these in April while at at rally in Texas.
Mor Ryde rep was at rally and demonstrated several Mor Ryde products, the power cord reel works good, easy to use.

$200 for a manual cord reel? Wow, no thanks. I can get a powered reel cheaper than that....

We carry a our 50 amp and a 30 amp cord. If it is cool out we use the 30 amp because it rolls up easy. Sometimes a campground won't have a 50 amp available and then we use the 30. Adapters are lighter than that big heavy cord.

Done wrestling with the 50amp chord.
Went with the manuel...less potential problems than an electric.

I guess this would be great if you have the room for it. I certainly don't have room on the inside of anything which means this would installed on the outside somewhere.
When it goes on the outside then it is saying "TAKE ME-TAKE ME" along with the batteries and propane tanks... Would be something else for us to worry about. I try to maintain the "OUT OF SIGHT OUT OF MIND" routine here the best I can...
I just coil my removable 25-foot 30AMP cord in the front storage bay next to my batteries in the fifth wheel. I also carry an 25-foot 30AMP RV extension cable as well. The 30AMP cable on the OFF-ROAD POPUP presently pushes into the inside storage area behind the converter I did install a locking door to cover the hole. I am planning however to change this to the disconnect type of shore power cable so I can add an outside connection from my 1500WATT PSW Inverter and then use a short shore power adapter to connect my shore power to the 1500WATT Inverter output. "Poor man's transfer switch"... After I get the 30AMP power plug installed on the off-road POPUP I will then use my full width metal battery box installed on the trailer tongue to store my 30AMP shore power Cable.
Want to incorporate something like this to handle all of my 120VAC power sources for the OFF-ROAD POPUP trailer.
Would be interested in where you end up installing this manual crank-up shore power cable box.

It will be mounted in our front storage (have a spot picked out) off door side and will just rearrange a couple of containers.
Will post a pic after install but it will probably be a week or so.

Installed and works just as hoped. No more wrestling with that heavy 50amp chord. 
Solid and not a big footprint. Not as much rearranging in the basement as I thought.

I have been thinking about making a second shorter 10 Foot cord since the pedestal is usually 4 to 6 feet away and I do not need the long heavy 50 amp cord.

I bought an adapter and just use a 30 amp cord when traveling. The only time we really need the 50 amp cord is if we need to run both air conditioners. Trying to handle the heavy 50 amp cord when it is cool outside is really difficult.
