Power Question

I am new to RV camping and so far have had no issues, until recently. The last two times I have had our 2013 23B out we had no power from the converter. The 1st time was on a generator and the 2nd time was at home plugged into a 110. Both times I used a 30amp to 15amp adapter and possibly had an open ground. When we purchased the RV I am 99.9% positive the tech said when it is plugged into the 110 we would have outlets but no micro or AC. When plugged into the 110 at home we had no outlets or lights but did have micro and A/C. We have a Progressive Dynamics PD4000. My questions are should I have power to outlets and did the open ground cause any issues? Any help is appreciated.

Breakers working on all 120v circuits? GFI tripped for rest of outlets on that circuit?

Breakers are working on 120V and I had no outlet, lights or water pump which are on the 12V. Also seemed to drain the battery instead of recharge when it was plugged in.

I'm not sure what your issue is, but I'm popping in to hear the answers. Something doesn't sound right.

AC outlets as you have at home are connected to the 120 volt AC breakers.

It sounds like the problem is related to the PD4000. It does have internal fuses they may need to be replaced.

Suggest you download the manual and go from there but you may also want to contact PD technical support;

I carry one of these, with appropriate adapters, wherever I go and check any power outlet I intend to connect our trailer to.

Took the camper to dealership and the converter is out. Hopefully getting it back in a week or so.

CincyCamper; with generators or shore-power watch the fluxuations in voltage and never shut a "genny" under heavy load. Goodluck with the repair and keep enjoying your outings.

You might want to invest in a surge protector that guards against surge, high/low voltage, checks for reverse polarity, appropriate ground, etc.
