Problem with power to camper

I am having a problem with getting power from my battery I have charged the battery and even put in a new battery. None of my power will work with the battery connected but it does work with the electricity. I have replaced the 30 amp fuse with no difference as well. I appreciate any suggestions that anyone would have. I have asked a number of questions and appreciate responses that I have received. I am to the point now where I feel too dumb to camp. Really frustrating. Trying to go on my first trip with my new camper later this week.

I hope I am not sounding mundane.
Check the battery connections - Positive, negative, the negative ground.
Check the inline 30 amp fuse close to the battery, make sure its seated all the way.
Check the circuit breaker panel inside the trailer, makes sure all breakers are on.
Check the fuse panel inside, make sure all fuses are good there to.

If all that checks out, and still nothing, I would not know without more information.

I don't know how old your camper is but you may have a bad converter. Those are the symptoms

Never a dumb question. Electrical can have a number of issues so it may take a combintation of things. There are several things that can go wrong and isolating them is the hard part.

First I think a model, year and style will help get more specific answers. Only in the last few years has Jayco added a kill swtich the units. Is that off?

Since you said you changed the battery with a new one I would focus on grounds.

Disconect the battery and with a volt meter put the negative on the ground wire and then touch the positive terminal. If you get a reading above 12V ground is good. Reconnect the battery and tighten the terminals good.

If no reading there is your issue.

Since you get power while plugged in your conveter is working and it does not require a battery to work the 12V systems while connected to 120V.

I don't know if there is another inline fuse at the converter. Another issue could be a connection not being made at the power panel from the battery and will require removal to confirm. DO NOT DO THIS WHILE PLUGGED IN if it comes to this.

Or you could just go in under warranty if you have one.

I got it working. I think the fuse was not tight enough. Thanks again to all for your help.

Glad you got it fixed. If that fuse/holder are not tight and there is any hint of movement, I would replace the fuse and holder as that can cause a ot of heat when there is a load on the fuse and can melt the case and wire insulation. Just to be safe!

Just my thoughts,

Don
