I had to replace one of the pigtails at my dual propane tank connection. The jacket was splitting and I was worried that it would fail. I did use the Teflon tape for gas fittings. Ever since then, my fridge will not fire up on propane unless I run the stove burner first. Before I replaced the pigtail, all worked as it should. Propane furnace fires up without issue, propane water heater fires up without issue only the fridge is finicky. Any ideas?
May just be the air needs to be fully expelled from the system. The refer may be the end of line for that gas line. Go outside and remove the refer access panel and see whats going on with the gas ignition. Run the refer on gas for a period, does it run ok? Keep restarting if not. Can you get to point where refer runs on gas without shutting off?
Once it runs sufficiently without shutting off, then try a few restarts.
You can use a dish soap and water mix to check for gas leaks on your repair; mix in a container, scoop up a good glob, and wrap it around the replaced hose ends. Dont want any blowing bubbles.
You may have opened the propane tank valve too quickly and the flow safety device closed down the line. Turn the tank off for a while, then slowly open the valve and try lighting whichever propane device is the farthest from the tanks. Then restart your fridge.
When we switch tanks we have to run the stove before the fridge will run in propane. When it sits for a while, same procedure. I've switched pigtails and same thing.

I've been RVing for ten years with two TTs and if the unit sat for more than a couple of weeks we always have had to purge the line by lighting the stove before turning on the water heater. The water heater ignition system is not very tolerate of the wait time to purge lines after a prolonged shutdown.
