Propane leak detector

Does anyone have a battery powered propane leak detector? I am dissatisfied with the liquid spray I have been using- It is messy to begin with and not very effective in my opinion- There are several brands available but quite pricey- All responses appreciated and THANX in advance for your shared responses- JMHO- DD

You can make your own with some softened water and Dawn dish soap. Do a google search for "propane leak detector" and you will fins a good selection of battery powered detectors.
