Propane leak detector

Got tired of cleaning up the soapy liquid solution used to check for propane leaks- The solution wasn't that effective anyway- Got a hand held battery operated leak detector through a friend in the hvac business- Just read and follow the directions for real peace of mind- JMHO- DD

I use a battery powered one also. Much cleaner as you mention and a darn site faster.

What brand or model of battery operated leak detector would you guys recommend? Are there any issues with false alarms or lack of leak detection sensitivity? Anything special I should know before buying one? Thanks!

I have this one: Gas Detector- Portable - Lorest Holding Co Llc 2400001 - Propane Accessories - Camping World

I always test it for function prior to actually testing a connection for real. I put it up to a just removed propane hose to make sure it is actually working. Much easier than soapy water.
