Propane Tank.... Fire pit

Has anyone used their propane tank to fuel an outdoor small fire pit?

Those of us who live in Utah / Colorado / Idaho are faced with "Fire Regulations" almost every summer/fall.

We have a camp-chef propane fire ring - for those times when it is "impossible" to have a real campfire.

They use a lot of propane and deliver a meager campfire experience unless you do something that you are not supposed to that makes the fire experience a little more realisitic- (No I wont post it here - read another thread about that)

Pictures of the Propane Fire ring - are not Stock configuration... Don't think it will be anywhere close to this!!!

The last picture is a typical campfire... how we roll in all the pic's!!!

If you want to use the provided propane tap it won't work. It is a low pressure output and the fire ring requires a standard high pressure connection. I looked into connecting a Coleman bbq to my connector and found out you needed to convert the bbq regulator to a low pressure feed, basically removing the bbq regulator.

You could always add an inline high pressure tap at your tank. Those fire rings eat a lot of propane and may drain your primary propane supply faster than you would like.

I bought a 10 ft quick connect hose and replaced the hose on my outland fire bowl. Plug it in to the quick connect for my outside grill. I have a fire to use during burn bans most summers in my part of the country.

You must be referring to fire glass. The fire pit will have it's own regulator, so are you wanting to take a tank off your TT, and connect it to the fire pit? How many tanks do you have on it, and are they 20# or 30#ers? Last question, how many fires are you wanting to have, and for how long? We have a fire pit on our deck, and a 20# tank will last for many short (1 or 2 hour) fires.
