Remote Control for electric fireplace

Hey guys really enjoy being part of this forum. A little late but thanks for the add. We have a new 2017 Seismic 4212 and we love it. Trying to work through how to operate all of the hi-tech equipment on the toyhauler. Question: I assumed the electric fireplace would have a remote but could not find one. Noticed later on the tv remote it said "fireplace" above the tv button. Could not get it to operate fireplace. Any ideas how this works? Thanks for any input.

Is there a power switch on the fireplace that needs to on before the remote can control the fireplace?

In 3 years we have never used the remote on the fireplace in our 2014 W Hawk. Just turn it on, set the flame size, set the temp, and set the timer. Its just not something that you have to micro manage with a remote.
