Removing lock from outside shower

So I ordered these locks to replace our CH751's on the outside storage doors. All has gone well, until I got to the outside shower. That lock/cam is almost molded into the door - has anyone removed these before? Any suggestions? I've attached an image of what I am talking about.

Other than that, this has gone great - and I get to use the same key on the storage compartments that we use on the front door.

Thanks.

Hi,

Did you try to pry off the black clip then push the lock out? I meant to check mine last night as I am re-keying to match a new rear mounted tool box. Hopefully I can remember today
Also thanks for the link. I want to replace the FIC entry door latch with something else...

Usually, that type lock has a clip that slides parallel to the door.

You pull out the clip and the lock rotates out the hole.

From the pic, it looks like the clip slides out the right.

Nice! We replaced the 751's with the combination locks (so we don't have to carry a key everywhere) and just ignored the shower since we don't use it. However, I've noted that with the new trailers and their new "slam latch" handles, they might not be able to replace the locks ... any experiences there?

That's correct. The black clip is what holds the cylinder to the door. Pry it off with a flat head screwdriver.

I believe this lock is retained by the small "wings" that come out from the sides, not by a slide-on clip like many do. I believe you will have to "squeeze" and depress the two small black sides to get the lock out.

Please see the attached photo where I identify the small clips.

Had 'em on my last MH! Sometimes they are a real pain to get both sides to squeeze in and then come out if the hole was punched to very tight tolerances.

I wanted to say thanks, I never knew about these keys all being the same. On PDI our tech pulled his key ring and opened the compartment, I really didn't think anything about it. Then to find we had 2 sets of door keys and this CH751 key for the compartments it just seemed stupid to have 3 different keys.
After realizing that someone could easily gain access and entry into our TT this way I have ordered up new locks to match the main door for all access points. The cost was low and it will add security and convenience for sure. Thanks for bringing this up it helped you resolve your issue and I learned something else new...

My lock removes differently from that. Mine had a slide clip (looks exactly like the pic). Maybe it depends on the model.

Checked mine last night. It has the slide clip. Got the new cam lock today so that project will be done.
