Removing Sony XAV-AXx0000 radio?

So I'm currently 1700 miles from home and my Sony XAV-AX8000 head unit has a defective (or more likely damaged during factory install) ribbon cable running from the screen to the bracket. Jayco overnighted me a whole new radio which was awesome. I just have one problem. It didn't come with any removal keys/pins to get the head unit out of the dash. I called Jayco Tech who said something thin stuck in the four corners of the unit like a butter knife or flat head should pop it out but either I have really thick butterknives or that's not quite right.

I'm unsure if I can even find the proper tools at an auto parts store. Anyone else have luck removing it or know where to stick something thin/small to pop it loose?
Here's the front of the unit. I'm thinking the gaps towards the top but I'll need to find something small enough to fit in there

Just came upon your post. I'm new to Jayco but have the same issue with my new Grayhawk 29MV. did you ever find out how to remove your Sony XAv-AX8000?

Don't know this particular vehicle, but I've done a few car audio installs. You usually have to remove the whole front face from the (at least) the center console. Sometimes this calls for removing some trim from the drivers and/or passenger side as well to access screws.

Best advice would be look for 'radio replacement (Ford/Chev/Mercedes) (F/E/Sprinter)' on Google or YouTube. I would look for the Chassis manufacturer base model rather than 'Jayco'. The dash assembly will be the same across say the Ford F or E series and the instructions are basically the same for all. There are a ton of good videos on YouTube that will walk you through this stuff and show how to remove the required dash trim panels.

Looking at the photo, my guess would be that there are 2 to 4 screws behind the soft panel that are holding an adapter frame in place. Remove these and you should be able to pull the unit from the dash and remove the adapter to be used on the replacement.

I was able to get it switched out at the dealer when I had other warranty work to do so unsure how they removed it, unfortunately. I may swap out the unit in general at some point and will figure out how to do it then I guess. I've found that the screen is not very compatible with polarized sunglasses so it looks completely black when wearing them unless I turn my head 90 degrees which is not the most comfortable or safe to do when driving
