Replacement Television

Our 2011 RCA 32 inch has an annoying sound problem that I mentioned some time ago. It's becoming more frequent so I'm thinking of replacing it. Will just about any 32in television fit on the mount that is attached to the television table, if I may call it that, in our living room? Did Jayco use VESA 200 by 200 mounts?

We mounted a new 42 inch smart tv where our dumb 39 inch one was without any problems. However, it was on a fireplace wall and swung out. Yours is different but most tv's use the same mounting platforms for like size televisions.

We have larger sets we don't really use but a larger set would stick out in the hallway. A 42 would be perfect for the living room but can't fit.

cekkk, I think we have the same trailer. Our original RCA tv was stolen about 4 years ago and I replaced it with a cheap 32'' LED tv from BestBuy. The tv mount that sits on the shelf has multiple mounting hole options. I measured the distance between the mounting holes and discovered that most tv's will fit.

As long as you say with the same VESA Mount pateren you’ll be fine. The problem is there are different threads on different TVs, you might wind up searching for bolts that match the thread and the length/depth for your TV.

This is not rocket science, get one that fits. They all pretty much fit the standards for the mounting holes, but check the TV details anyway.

A 32" TV could get away with a smaller VESA mount, so you'd have to check to make sure. You can buy adapters to go from the smaller VESA mount to a larger one if needed.

Appreciate your reply. In this small town my only store with TVs is WM. I'll head there today.

I bought a 32" LG LED from WM for my trailer and am real happy with it. It sips power too.

Since we're going to be living in the tt for a couple more months I'm going to get a smart one. Wifi in the house reaches into the camper.

I replaced my original RCA 40" set a couple of months ago with a new Samsung 43". I would have gone larger, but that is the widest set I could get to fit in my rear mounted TV lift. Even though the new set is the same width as the original 40" it has a larger screen due to the newer low width bezel design and a much better picture.

The only issue was the new set had a VESA 200x200 mounting arrangement where the old RCA was 400x400. I'm sure the fact that the new set weighs half what the old one did was the reason. I removed the bracket from the lift and took it to a machine shop with a drill press and had holes drilled in the 200x200 arrangement. Bolted the new set on and was good to go.

That bracket is heavy heavy heavy.
