Replacing the lid on a MaxxFan Standard 4500K

Hey awesome forum friends! Can anyone explain how to replace the lid on the MaxxFan Standard 4500K?

There are two screw on the hinge, but I'm unsure if there is a rod or something in there and I can't get the old one off.

Also, is it best to unscrew the old lid and reuse the hinges, leaving them in place, or will the new hinges pop on to the lifter arms?

This seems simple, but I can't figure it out! Thanks a ton!

Martin
