Really, if you don't mind managing the whole power thing, have at it. Just saying it's definitely not for everybody. If you're mostly camping where power is available virtually full-time, then it's no issue. They like the way the fridge works when it's under power. When boondocking, they can recharge the batteries with the generator. The problem they see is that by 3am or so, the charge control system is shutting down the inverter output to the fridge circuit and things start beeping. It's especially problematic on warm nights, as the fridge runs longer and more often to keep things cold. Solar doesn't help that, and you can't run a generator at 3am. So, they just shut down the whole motorhome and go back to bed until it's late enough to run the generator.
