Roof (Caulking/Eternabond)
Need some input,
I had several cracks in my bathroom skylight outside and did a repair with eternabond.
Jayco sent me a new skylight and said no recalls on this item. I believe this happened because the screws were to tight and cause the cracks. I know a great mobile RV service and had them do the repair. The skylight was a little different but the teck said it would work and it did. He did a great repair job and also used eternabond. The call out and repair totaled $268.25 but he cleaned every bit of calk off and resealed with new tape and screws. It is a nice looking replacement! I had just got a cast off my foot so climbing was not good at the time.
Now here is my concern. My trailer is a late 2010 Jayco and called a 2011. The teck who I trust said I should have the roof cleaned and the old calk removed and eternabond put down to make the roof last longer. I cleaned the roof today myself and it looks much better. I was wondering if the old caulk should be removed. It looks a little grey not as white but this should be normal for a 2011. I check the roof often and things do get dirty. Do you think I could put the eternabond over the caulk from the factory and over the front seem. No trouble yet and caulk has good bond just not white a grey tint to it now from road dirt. Also when washing the roof I sprayed with a soft spray around the freidge vent and noticed some water inside the outside freidge vent. No damage but does the top vent need covered when washing. What say you!
