rv antifreeze

Yes is it normal for rv antifreeze to get slushy.Just curious.Never paid much attention to it before.Thanks

I understand that is normal. It will get slushy but not freeze hard, unless of course the temp dips below its rating.

I bought my first gallon this year and the info on the container says that it will get slushy in sub zero weather.

It will jell or freeze, but it just does not expand like water when it freezes.

Off subject but wouldn't automotive window washer fluid work just as well as rv antifreeze? I've personally never used it but was looking at a bottle this afternoon and it looks to have around a -20* freeze point. Price wise it would be a whole lot cheaper, especially for folks like me who still use our units througout the winter and use 4 gallon of antifreese each time. Anyone think it would cause long term ill effects?

It may not be non-toxic, like RV antifreeze is.
