Sanicon system

I have a question for anyone familiar with the sani-con turbo system. I prefer to use the old school regular sewer hoses. If I purchase a unit with the sani-con installed, can I bypass it completely? Thanks in advance for the help.

On mine you can. Just shut off the gate valve that goes to it, (it faces the inward, so you have to look for it.) and use the regular dump valve.

I agree with Cincinnati kid. Just make sure if you shut it off with water in it It’s included when you winterize the unit.

Better way to extend Sanicon hose?

I don’t mind using the Sanicon system—actually works really well for us, but last week the sewer dump at our site was at the very back of the site and our hose wouldn’t reach it. I did attach a regular water hose—per the manual—and it worked ok, but it sure put a lot of pressure on the Sanicon hose. I was afraid it might pop, which would have been an ugly sight. So, I’m trying to figure out a way to attach a regular 3” sewer hose to the Sanicon “wand”, but can’t figure out a way to make it work. Anyone else try to do this? Again, it would just be for when the sewer dump location is too far to reach with the standard 21’ hose. Thanks!

We spent 2 weeks at my in-laws and had to use the sanicon with a 50ft hose. No issues at all!

Why not buy a Sanicon extension hose?

Was the 50’ hose just a standard garden hose? We used a 25’ hose camping last week and it worked fine. I do wish there was a connector to seal the water hose into the sewer dump; I didn’’t like just poking the hose down the sewer dump. Any thoughts/ideas on that? Thanks!

Thought about doing that, but for an occasional use wouldn’t be practical for us. This was the first time we have not been able to reach the sewer dump at a site. So probably will keep a 25’ water hose for that “just in case” time. I want to figure out a way to put a fitting on the end of the water hose that will secure it to the sewer dump though.
