Separate Exterior Lights

I began exploration of how to put the awning light and the step light of separate switches today. My 26.5RLDS Eagle HT only has one switch for exterior lighting inside. The single switch controls both lights. I would prefer to have the step light able to be on instead of lighting up the entire campground.

I was not surprised to see this rats nest behind the control panel.

I was surprised to find this sub-panel behind there.

This is not on my wiring diagram anywhere. I am not sure how they expect an owner to find these fuses in a pinch.

If you have a remote for lights, slides that may be the controller for it. Looks similar to the one in our 5th. Ours is not shown on the wiring diagram either.

We had our dealer separate the step light from the awning light when we were in for winterization. They put in a separate rocker switch in the blank panel and moved a ground wire over. Took them 10 minutes to do the whole thing at no charge.
