Sewage to steam?
I wonder if there's a way (when hooked up to water and electric only) to heat the gray water to the point of boiling and gradually evaporate it all through the roof vent?

Just from a physics standpoint, it would take a lot of energy to evaporate 20~30 gallons in a timely manner, not too mention the tank wouldn't hold up to that high of a temperature. ~CA

I have never seen anything like that used in an RV application. However, they are available for commercial/industrial applications.

Yes, you would need a boiler and stacks that could handle it.

The other problem will be the solids (soap and food particles) will remain in the tank since they don't evaporate.

Once upon a time and with the understanding mine is a class c, I thought about using a section of copper tubing, strainer filter, and slowly inject the filtered gray water into the exhaust system just behind the catalytic converter so I could evap the water while driving. Then as I thought about it, I asked myself why would I want to do that?, as there are other and easier ways to deal with gray water... lol ~CA

Not really a waste of time, exercising your mind is fun. And occasionally productive!

If there are any potato bits in your grey tank maybe you can make vodka!

Grey Goose Vodka, I'd drink. Grey Tank Vodka, I don't think so.

When I read this, the first thing I thought of was adding a heating element for a wallpaper removal tool. I use mine for steam bending wood. It generates a lot of steam.
You would have to drill into the side of the grey water tank to install it. Personally, a small portable waste tank is my preference. Mine is 11 gallons. When full, the DW and I can pick it up easily. When we have been at national parks (only asked at the parks we have stayed at), the staff has told us we can dump it down the latrines.

I was thinking dripping into a smaller tank like that, instead of trying to heat up the entire grey tank. Just needs some kind of float to keep it full and a switch to shut off when empty, and let it cook 24/7.
