Slide Ratcheting Sound at Full Travel
Hello,
Unlike my other two slides, my dining table slide makes a ratcheting / clicking sound when it gets to full travel (both extended and retracted). This is a new to me fifth wheel and my other two slides just extend and retract and then stop with no ratcheting type noises at full stop. Any thoughts?
Thank You in Advance.

Yup That's normal on that type of slide... Its a rack and pinion style.

That's the cue to take your finger off the button.

Mine sometimes does it, other times doesn't. I actually prefer to hear the hammering/ratcheting sound because it tells me the slide has hit complete full travel and the motor has reached its torque limit.

Our current rig does not make that noise. We have to listen to the motor strain then grunt. If we don't stop it will shear a bolt on the motor.
We have become in tune to the noises our rig makes.

You would think they'd have a 'STOP' built into these units.

There is a clutch in the mechanism that engages at full open and full close.
