Slide topper tension

Our slide topper that was installed at the dealership is having issues. It's a large slide out and as the slide goes out its pulling the topper so hard that the topper roll bar is pulling over the slide. It's ripping the plastic corner bracket off the wall.
We are camping and have another stop before heading home. Any idea how to adjust or fix this issue?

Sounds like they ordered the wrong topper. They are sized according to slide depth and length.

It goes edge to edge on slide. Issue is the tention is so tight its pulling topper over slide. Husband had to manually undo slide topper little by little as we put the slide out to keep it from pulling overy slide.

There is no adjustment. The dealer messed up.

Well I forgot while unpacking from our trip and open the slide maybe a foot before I remembered the awning.
In that little distance the awning arm bent as the whole awning went over top of the slide. It broke plasti slide corner and bolts in slide was already pulling out.
Husband ended up removing awning from camper.
Very upset as we had dealership in NC add awning. Awning is Carefree awning and only 3 months old!
We live in FL so I have to figure out how to get this resolved.

This seems like an issue with the dealer that installed it.

I would contact them and see which way to go. At the least, after documenting the problem in writing and in video or pics, I would disable the awning until I could get it back to the dealer or his representative.

Good luck with it. Lessons learned: Check it out before leaving the area. Slide toppers are a owner convenience and not a necessity to camping.
