OK, it seems logical that slide out jacks could very well cause problems. So the other choices for 5th wheels are basically either the tripod pin jack, or something like the JT Strong Arm telescoping stabilizers that attach to the front frame and the bottom of the landing gear. Does anyone out there have experience with both types, particularly as to whether the Strong Arms are enough more effective than the tripods, to justify the higher cost ?

DO NOT USE THEM... they will mess up your slideout and it will not be a warranty fix....$$$$$$$$$

I have used one on both of my 5ers and don't see any difference between using them and not using them. Others may disagree . However, if you would like a really nice lightweight, hardly used Aluminum tripod, I'll make you a deal .

Welcome to JOF

Unfortunately you posted your question in an existing thread that has been inactive for 1 1/2 years.

I would recommend starting your own new "Tripod" thread over in the the "Jayco Fifth Wheels" forum..., that way your post will get increased visibility and response. Once you start your own thread in the other forum, we can transfer any replies to your question from this old thread.
