Solar Advice for 5th Wheel Vacation Home

We're buying a lot in South Carolina on the beach. We're going to keep our Seismic Wave 310 down there semi-permanent. I say that because there may be times we move it to go down to Florida or in case a hurricane is headed that direction.

It has full hookups but I'm looking at the possibility to save some some of the electric bill IF putting solar panels on the roof makes sense. I have no experience with solar panels so I wanted to get feedback from you guys on:

1. Is it worth it in this situation?
2. If so, what setup should I look into getting?

Thanks in advance!

GlampinLife-
You will get a better response by going to COMMUNITY, SOCIAL GROUPS, RVING WITH SOLAR. That's where the experts are to help you out. Good luck with your solar project.

Happy RVing,
Jeff

Find out what your cost/kwh is at the park. Even with a solar setup you're still going to need the park power. If you are only there seasonally and not full time then the cost of solar won't be recovered by reducing your park power bill. Even on a house the solar takes many years to hit break even. With an RV, solar only makes sense if you plan to dry camp a lot which isn't the case for you.

Do they meter your electricity? If so, your solar won't help you much as it won't be able to power things like air conditioning, hair dryer, coffee pot, or clothes dryer.

Yes, each lot has their own meter. I wasn't sure if it would be worth it, so you guys have been very helpful! Thank you guys for the advice and information.

Did one 275 w industrial panel three years ago. Best deal for us batteries always charged, spent about 600 bucks. Easy install. Thanks
