Solar install: Where are the roof panel wires!?

Okay I’ll sound like a broken record, but I’m installing solar and lithium batteries and can’t seem to locate the wires coming from the rooftop connectors. I drilled a hole for my Victron battery monitor over the sticker on the staircase wall but alas, the label that promised me wires lied!

I think the positive wire is located on the second fuse block down the unswitched bus bar in the photo, but I cannot find the negative wire. I took out the corner wall in the bathroom to check all those wires but no luck there.

Has anyone done a solar install on a 2020 model 321RSTS and could give me a hint as to these wire locations from the factory?

Much obliged!Click image for larger version

SB_James ... I believe your rig will have the BM Pro on the wall which you will need to remove to get to the wiring inside the wall. There you should find the ground from the roof that comes down and back up (a loop essentially) which will then be grounded near your battery bank. Similar with the positive wiring however those should be cut with one leading to the roof and the other will have 12V live as it is hooked to the battery disconnect panel at a 30 A breaker.

Thanks let me try that.

On my 2020 Talon the wires were there by the wall sticker just off the mark a little. I had to fish them out with a wire hook. Plenty of extra length. My BMPro is nowhere near my stairs or that sticker. I never did find where Jayco grounded the roof negative, i assume to the nearest chassis ground. I ran a new one directly to my Charge controller in the basement from the roof lead in the wall. I also filled the hole in the wall with a battery monitor after connecting the 2 positive wires and running my new ground and monitor wire. So far I love this solar, I haven't had to plug into shore power to keep charged since the install a month ago.

So it wasn’t behind the BMPro panel. It was in the adjacent all cavity from the label location. Come on Jayco, update your work instructions to match the label location to where the wires are actually located! Now I have 2 extra holes in my wall that didn’t need to be there. And I couldn’t use the hole where the wires are located because there is no way to route the RJ cable without tearing up the wall.

I will drill another hole below the touchscreen for the BMV-712 since there is an easy path from there to the basement.

Thanks for the tips, and I’m sure we will enjoy the new boondocking setup!

I found the ground in the front bay screwed to the frame next to the driver side jack. It was stacked with the leveling power module ground wire.

Me either. On my 5th wheel + & - solar wires were both behind sticker next to BMPRO control labeled, cut and capped. Looked behind BMPRO, I didn't want to cut a hole, as my controller went in basement next to batteries. I reconnected both and replaced the BMPRO contoller. No solar negative wire was found in basement. No worries, it works great.
