Solar Question

I apologize if this question has been answered. This is my first post. I just bought a 2014 Jay Flight 19 RD. It's a beautiful trailer. I want to wire it for solar charging capability. Was my trailer rewired for solar panels? If not, has a solar retrofit thread been posted? I'm wanting suggestions for where to rout the charge wire. Thanks in advance.
Lynn

If your trailer is like mine you’ve got a connection on the tongue of the trailer for a suitcase style solar panel with its own charge controller. Are you wanting to use a portable system that you set up at each camp site or one that is permanently mounted to the trailer? I looked up your trailer on jayco’s website and it didn’t say if you’ve got that connection on the tongue. There is a solar group on this forum that could be helpful. http://https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/groups/44-rving+with+solar.html

Read through the posts there and you’ll get lots of good info. If you decide permanent mount I can tell you what I did.

We have no solar connection on our 2012 19RD, Yours may have one, being a couple of years newer.

A tour video that I watched mentioned that 2016 was the first year that Jay Flight trailers offered solar presiding. I put solar electric in an out building, and it was very easy to do. Thank you for responding.

I have a 21' that's basically the same trailer. It won't be for sale.

Here's a nice Renogy kit that clamps right to your battery:
