Solar Talk - Home Tie-In

So with all this talk about large solar panels recently, has me thinking about our future solar system. Right now I do not have solar. But in the next couple years, I expect to put solar on a new camper and on our garage.

Has anyone ever tied their camper's solar grid in with their home's solar grid? To me it seem way like a good modular/hybrid solution. I have never heard of it being done.

Right now, I suspect our TT sits in the driveway unused about 170 days each summer. The TT Solar system would be just sitting there, keeping the batteries topped off, but not providing any additional benefits. Just seems like a good use of resources to tie it back into the home's solar system.

I think it’s subject to wattage of the TT solar system vs. cost of the project imo. More importantly utility companies are sticklers when connecting to their grid (property) and your local AHJ (authority having jurisdiction) may have requirements too. I’d start by asking them, they’ll have more info and give a thumbs Up or Down
