Solar vs converter

Gay day.
I’m in the process of adding two solar panels to my heritage jayco wobbly box,
My question is, to all you brains trusts out there, can I wire the panels directly to the power converter or do I need to go via a regulator,
Next part to the question is Do I need to turn of the solar supply when I connect to 240v or will the power converter recognise this,

Thanks for any help,
Ps remember the kiss factor in your answer,

Cheers

Solar panel wires go to solar charge controller

Solar charge controller wires to batteries.

This is the only way it works. Nothing goes to the converter, it has nothing to do with the system. All solar does is keep your batteries charged so your 12V items keep working. It has nothing to do with the 120V things (outlets and whatnot)

No need to unplug anything. Solar controllers are intelligent and so are converters. Neither will overcharge a battery unless they are defective. The solar will step aside when it sees the voltage from being plugged in and let the converter work while you are plugged in. Once you unplug the solar controller sees there is no voltage coming in anymore and kicks in

What Screwby said was perfect.

Solar Panels -------> Solar Charge Controller ---------> House Batteries

Nothing else.
How's that for KISS?

As the others have said, just hook up your panels to the controller which then will connect to your battery (or batteries). When you are not plugged into shore power, the solar will charge your battery as needed. It should have different levels of charge (boost, regular, float) and will send the battery what it needs.

When you plug in, the converter will be the primary source of battery charging. When it outputs its voltage (should also have multiple levels of charge voltage), the solar controller will see the higher battery voltage and just assume it is fully charged. The solar will then be basically doing nothing.

I have this setup and it works quite well. No need to disconnect the solar.
