Solar Wiring Question

I will be Installing a Renogy 100 amp solar panel on our 2017 HT 28.5RSTS with and have located the solar wires in in the wall by the bathroom electric outlet. I am fortunate that both the positive and ground wire were left looped in the wall without either being cut when installed. I have tested them from the battery to the solar connector on the roof and it tested at 12 volts. I am planning to mount a Renogy Adventurer
charge controller in the basement on the battery disconnect panel. I removed the access panel and found the red solar wire connected to a 30 amp fuse and it also had the Schwintec slide out controller black positive wire added to the same connector. Any ideas on what I need to do here since the Schwintec controller is attached to the connector of the solar wire? Will it burn up the Schwintec controller once I make the Solar connector hot fron the solar panel? I have few pics of the wiring I came across

Wow, I love the rats nest of wires all these campers have lol. To answer your question, no it won’t hurt the slide system. The controller is only capable of sending as much power through that wire as the batteries themselves would. The panels pull all the energy they can and send it to the controller, the controller then sends it to the batteries. The batteries still control all the 12v functions in the camper not ever the controller. The controller just puts the power back into the battery hopefully as fast or faster than you use it. Make sure you put a 30amp in-line fuse between the controller and that connection. It looks like they’ve already got you covered on the panel wiring but you want one to protect your controller too.

Enjoy! Solar is addictive, just warning you. Once you realize how simple it is you begin to want more.

Forgot to do an update on the solar project. The installation of the solar panel went well and everything is working as it should.

Was wondering if there was a chance you could send me a picture or drawing of the wiring you did at the charge controller and the solar disconnect you installed. TIA

I am thinking of just a toe in the solar pond with 1 100 watt panel, 10 or 20 amp mppt controller and and single 27 battery. Just for those single nights at a parking lot or overflow with no connections campground.
My question, could I just run a wire pair from the Mppt to the battery with no other connections or controls? I would leave it connected during storage and use my shutoff at the battery keep down the drains. I also assume the Mppt and the converter will not argue with each other.
