Sony MEX-DV1700U Issues

Once again, having trouble with the external Sony on the 2014 Seneca 37FS. This time, no audio. I get speaker beeps when adjusting functions, etc, can see the numeric volume increase with turns, etc, but no sounds. Have had nothing but trouble with this unit. Was working fine last trip...
Any ideas?

They no longer make this model, so can anyone recommend a suitable substitution that would have all of the functions: rear audio in, video, etc in a single DIN mount?

Thanks!

Terry

Double check the balance, fader, input, output, and signal.

Mine died too. I replaced my unit just a few weeks ago with a BOSS AUDIO BV9976B unit I got from Amazon. That unit has a motorized screen I don't really need because it will play a DVD with the screen retracted. But adjusting all the settings is easy since it is a touch screen. So I just make my adjustments, start the movie, then retract the screen and enjoy the show!

I did have to rewire the connector since the Sony and Boss connectors were obviously different. But very easy and I eliminated the poorly done Jayco butt connectors. Now everything is soldered and covered with heat shrink. You also have to replace the installation sleeve since the radios lock in differently.

The Boss has plenty of audio power and the picture easily equals the Sony's. Be sure you keep the Sony's antenna wire and connector to plug into the new unit so you get radio reception.

It does indeed take the audio from my TV, I also have an Autopro 12-volt BluRay player installed outside that is connected via HDMI directly to my TV, the Boss takes the audio from the TV and sends it to the external speakers. It doesn't matter the source whether it be an air or cable signal or the Autopro, whatever audio the TV has goes also to the Boss.

Arrived and installed last night. Works like a champ, great audio, and I too find the touch screen very helpful for adjustments.

Thanks again for the tip!
