I have had my PT50C hanging around outside for the past 5 years and it has never been touched. I put a chain around the pedestal with the pedestal door open, then put the chain on with a pad lock hooking through the tab on the PT50C, then close the pedestal door. I could be removed I'm sure, but wouldn't be easy or silent.

I really don't worry about it being stolen, but the chain/lock makes me feel better.

Johnny the Progressive Industries is worth the extra money. Good choice.

I have been able to lock the pedestal cover with a padlock at all but one campground I have been to.

It has a handy little bracket made onto the unit that you can run a lock through. I just wrap a bright yellow chain around the CG power post snug enough that you can't slip it off. I use the bright colored chain in hopes it would deter anyone, from a distance.

I too use a portable Progressive Industries unit and I will personally attest to their excellent warranty.

They've repaired mine twice! The first time water intrusion fried the electronics, the second time the male plug melted (likely the campgrounds fault - but they took care of it).

And I've never felt the need to lock it down.

See my picture in post #10. Mine is padlocked to the power panel using the ring attached to the Progressive PT-50C
