I picked up my trailer yesterday and my brake controller is not working....I have no lights on it at all.

Any suggestions on where to start?

I think that is the brand I have. The 1 led as I recall, only lights up when the httt is connected to the tv.

Yes I think you are correct but I did not have any lights on the controller when I hooked the trailer up. All the other lights worked

Start by checking the connections and if the wires are still soldered to the pin in the connectors both under the dash and in the 7pin connector.

Exhaust checking / testing the 7-pin connections. A proper 7-Pin connection circuit is what activates the brake controller.

I had a similar problem with my '96 Safari van pulling a 26S. I spent about 6 hours testing all the pins and the only one not powered up was the hot wire for the brakes that I ran from the engine compartment through the firewall under the carpet to the rear and connected to the 7 pin plug. Turned out the wire was corroded at the area of the rocker panel but couldn't be detected visually. The local Trailer/Hitch dealer found it in 10 minutes and replaced a 12" section and I was good to go..So check for continuity if it's not a factory harness.

For me, the only problem I have ever had with my brake controller has been bad grounds. I would check your ground connections.

Have you checked the fuses under the hood? Also have you manually pulled the break away switch to verify that the brakes work, or that you do not have a wiring issue on the tt?

I was able to trace the break wire back and found where it was spliced. It was so corroded that it broke when I touched it. Cut out the connector, had it soldered together shrink wrapped it, taped it and it is back to working great.

Thanks for the utube video that helped a great deal
