Television type
I want to add a second Tv in my camper's bedroom. Does it matter due to cold and heat extreme if you get a LCD or LED type TV? I live in Illinois.

Either one should be fine.
Most people bring them inside when stowing the TT during the winter.
I have an LED and will leave in in the camper from April - November in Ohio
Best regards,
Doug

Not sure about a Plasma.
Google specs, should give a temp range.
I think they're all in the same category.

Mine stays in all the time, the temperature range is usually for operating, not storing.

Mine has sat in the RV at -40.. no problems... ever watch the big container trains coming with TV's? Ever see a heating unit on any of them?

I'd be more concerned with condensation than the cold itself. For example, you have a flat screen in your camper at 0 degrees F. then bring it into a warm house. Condensation will occur on the circuit boards, etc. and could be a problem if you energize it under those conditions.

I leave my tv in the camper all of the time, and use it on weekends all year long. No problems doing this for 3 years now.

x2 Leave them the Rv. Less damage, so you don't drop them.

They aren't heated when they are transported, that being said I leave my TV's in the camper year round. I think that you would just want to avoid rapid temperature fluctuations due to condensation.
