Tire inflation

The placard inside the drivers for on my 2004 class C recommends 65psi for the front tires and 80 psi for the rear dualies.
The tires front and back list 80psi maximum for each tire.
When I had the vehicle checked out in the summer the guy at the tire site said that they always inflate RV tires on motorhomes to 80psi all the way around.
We're getting ready to head south in a few days and I just filled all of the tires to 80psi.
Which way do most of you go for inflation: manufacturers door placard or tire rating?

The reason that the placard said 65 lb. is that the front axle doesn't carry near the weight that the rear carries and they want it the coach to be a softer ride. It probably is just fine going with 65 lb. Your tire guy is erring on the side of caution. He is giving you a slightly harsher ride to be certain that you are not going to build heat or overload your tire. I tend to do the same.

When we had the SENECA the tires said 95 lbs. I ran 85 front 90 rear after I had it weighed and it handled great and we didn' t jar our teeth out going over bumps.

Keep the front tires inflated between 65 & 80psi and the rears at 80psi and you'll be fine.

If you experiment, you'll probably find a pressure for the fronts between 65 & 80 that gives good handling with a less 'harsh' road feel. For my class B it was 65psi and it's 70psi for my TV.

(All this is assuming, of course, that the tires on your class C are the correct load range and size as original equipment. When I bought my class B, the prior owner had cheap, passenger car tires installed! Not good!)

I took my Seneca to a Cat scale and weighed each corner and inflated the tires according to tire manufactures chart. This works out to be 85lb in each tire.

The motorhome was filled with water, fuel and supplies.

Get a weight to pressure chart from the tire mfg. Put the rig on a set of scales at a truck stop and put in what the chart calls for for the weight. Have the rig all loaded and ready to travel when weighing. Mine workes out to 65# front and 75# rear.
